Hayes takes 2 stroke lead to Final Round
John Hayes of Forest Hills CC shot an opening round 67 to lead the field going into the final round of the Anheuser Busch Senior Section Championship at The Falls GC in O'Fallon, MO on Wednesday. Hayes will take his 4 under par score against the areas best Seniors in the Gateway PGA's Championship. Dale Boggs of Creve Coeur Recreation Center fired a 2 under par 69 and Steve Spray of St. Louis CC finished with a 1 under par 70 on the 6488 yard layout. Mike Wensing of Jefferson City CC made a Hole in One with a 6 iron on the 163 yard 14th hole. The winner of the event will qualify for the PGA of America's Senior Championship in Palm Springs, CA, later this fall. Tee times for Thursday's final round will begin at 8:00 am. |
