Algonquin Head Pro Makes it 2 in a Row
After capturing the Gateway PGA Section Championship at St. Albans last week, Steve Hausmann couldn't imagine anything better than winning the Titleist/FootJoy/Club Car Professional National Championship qualifier at Lake Forest CC. Hausmann, already exempt in the PNC for 2009, finished his final round on the 7100 yard layout with 4 birdies and 1 lone bogey on his way to a 3 under par 69 Tuesday. His total for the 36 hole event was 139, 5 under par, and edged second place finisher Bob Gaus of Tower Tee GC by 2 strokes. Craig Liddle of Meadowbrook CC and JC Anderson of Old Hickory GC tied for third at 2 under par and also qualified for the National Finals in 2009. Alternates for the 2009 Championship include Mike Suhre of Oak Brook GC (1 under), Mike Fromuth of Crystal Springs Quarry GC(Even), and Rob Sedorcek from St. Albans (Even). Qualifiers will now advance to Santa Ana Pueblo, NM, to face qualifiers from 40 other sections of the PGA of America. |
