Escott captures first title at Southern Illinois Open
Jeff Escott made 30 foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole at Kokopelli GC in Marion, IL, to capture his first professional victory. After firing two rounds of 68, he was matched against Mark Faulkner of Lake of Egypt CC in the playoff. Both players made par on the 1st hole, but when Escott sank his birdie putt on the second playoff hole, it proved to be too much as Faulkner could not match the putt. Escott is the Gateway PGA's newest member and is the First Assistant at Persimmon Woods GC in Weldon Springs MO. Faulkner who has won two events this year still has a commanding lead in the Player of the Year point standings. |
